Students speaking truth to power, in the zombielogical mode of instrumental academic realism:

TUTOR: So, there’s like an attendance requirement, how would you interpret that, do you think that means you just show up, or do you think it means you should read the assigned reading, participate in class discussion, that kind of thing?
STUDENT: You can’t make us talk. There’s no grade for participation.

TUTOR: So, you guys pay to be here – how much does it cost to do a subject?
STUDENTS (murmuring): Around $900?
TUTOR: So, what would that be an hour, if you had 3 contact hours a week?
STUDENT: We’re not paying to be here, we’re paying for the piece of paper at the end.

How well we have all been trained.
